This album consists of 28 photoprint portraits of unidentified men who may have worked with Luther B. Harris in the U.S. Postal Service during the mid to late 19th century. Some are identified, including a photo of the Mormon leader, Brigham Young.

Luther Burnham Harris was born on January 14, 1847 in Worcester, Vermont. In 1861, he enlisted to fight in the Civil War and was captured by the Confederates and imprisoned at Andersonville, Georgia (Camp Sumpter) three years later. He survived and escaped on February 28, 1865. After the war, Luther worked for the U.S. Postal Service, a few local railroad companies, and finally settled down as a farmer and banker later in life.
